Welcome Blog: Zachary Ivey
Meet Zachary Ivey ’15, BSC’s new assistant director of admission. He returns to the Hilltop from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he earned his master’s degree in professional communication and worked in the admission office for more than three years. Learn more about him and his role on campus.
What are some of your main responsibilities in your position?
I work with students from Georgia and South Carolina.
What are you looking forward to most in this role?
The most exciting part about joining the admission team at BSC is getting to share my alma mater with prospective students.
Do you have a favorite place in Birmingham?
I’ve always felt at home in Avondale. The neighborhood is constantly changing and growing. I love the energy of the area.
What piece of advice would you give a student interested in applying to BSC?
Come visit campus! Sit in on a class, and take a tour. The best way to find your perfect fit is to experience the atmosphere and culture first hand.
What have you been listening to lately?
RuPaul and Michelle Visage’s podcast “What’s the Tee?” has been keeping me laughing and smiling on the road. It’s a great mixture of pop culture and current events.
