Tell us about some of your responsibilities in this position.
As the facilities and events coordinator, I work closely with every department to ensure their events are on the calendar and all details are included. I work with them to coordinate the setup, location, catering, and all other needs to make sure each event goes well.
What led you to a career in events?
My interest in a career in events began when I was social chair for a student organization as an Auburn University student. I enjoy working behind the scenes putting together something that people will enjoy. I’ve worked on concerts, festivals, fundraisers, galas, relay races, and more.
What are you looking forward to in this role?
What excites me most about my position at BSC is that I get to work with everyone. There are so many events that go on here, and I’m glad I get to be a part of them all.
Do you have a favorite thing about Birmingham?
One of my favorite things about Birmingham is the growth that is happening here. From food and culture, to business and entertainment. The magic is definitely returning to the Magic City.
What’s one of your goals for your time at BSC?
My goal as I start this position is to learn as much as I can from the people here. I want to not only learn things that will help in my career but also things I can apply to my everyday life.
What’s a fact about you that most people don’t know?
Most people don’t know that I’m a singer. I’ve been singing since I was five years old, and I am now very involved in the Birmingham music scene. I’ve sung with quite a few famous people, including American Idol star Ruben Studdard and gospel artists Dorinda Clark-Cole, Isaiah Templeton, and Kirk Franklin. It’s what I love to do!
