BSC is Sponsoring Sidewalk Film Festival
Birmingham-Southern College is a sponsor of the 2023 Sidewalk Film Festival, taking place from Monday, August 21 through Sunday, August 27. The College is specifically the sponsor for the Teen Shorts block of the festival, starting on Saturday, August 26 at 10 a.m. in the Kress Building.
Several alumni and current BSC students were involved in the making of films being shown during the week. Current student Jake Culbertson co-wrote and stars in The Mysterious Case of Harrison Hanson, showing on Saturday, August 26 at 10 a.m. in the Kress Building.
Brennan Martignoni ’19 served as director of photography and current student Skylar Troy worked as a production assistant on The Year I Met You, showing on Saturday, August 26 at 3:15 p.m. at the BJCC. The film was produced on the BSC campus.
Harris Josey ’20 directed The Seal of Death 2, showing on Saturday, August 26 at 7:50 p.m. at the Kress Building.
Brennan Martignoni ’19 also directed Veal, showing on Sunday, August 27 at 12:45 p.m. at the BJCC.
In addition to the College’s involvement in this year’s events, BSC will soon offer a scholarship for Media and Film Studies students whose work has been selected from those featured at the Sidewalk Film Festival.
