Honors Convocation Guest Speaker Harvard Law Professor Randall Kennedy
Randall Kennedy is the Michael R. Klein Professor at Harvard Law School where he teaches courses on criminal law and race relations. A prominent legal scholar and public intellectual writing mainly on civil rights law and matters of race, he has published seven books and numerous essays and reviews. Kennedy served as a law clerk for Judge J. Skelly Wright of the U.S. Court of Appeals and for Justice Thurgood Marshall of the U.S. Supreme Court. A member of the American Law Institute, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Philosophical Association, Kennedy is also a Trustee emeritus of Princeton University. The Harrison Honors Program is delighted to welcome Professor Kennedy to Birmingham-Southern for the inaugural Fall Honors Convocation in Norton Theatre. His talk on the legacy of the civil rights movement is entitled “Shall We Overcome?” All are welcome. This event will be live-streamed on our website.
